Today, Bleachers released “Alma Mater” their latest taste off their upcoming self-titled album with a music video directed by Alex Lockett. The visual companion features frontman Jack Antonoff rolling with the top down through his home state, New Jersey.
As he cruises under the veil of night, he sees surreal and eery figures, including a construction worker ripping the saxophone and a man with a sign that reads “Kill Your Idols,” one of the track’s lyrics. Throughout soft street lights illuminate the singer-songwriter as he looks outward.
In line with the haunting visuals, Antonoff is joined on the song by Lana Del Rey, who adds her sweeping and unmistakable vocals to the song – to cement her presence, she also appears in the video. She’s not the only cameo in the video: Antonoff’s wife, Margaret Quaelley, crosses a street smiling in the clip reminiscent of her first scene in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood…
Bleachers will come out on March 8, 2024. Watch Bleachers’ “Alma Mater” below.
