Continuing The Hold Steady’s 20th-anniversary festivities, the band announced their plans to present Positive Jam, a first-time festival set to take place on Saturday, August 5, at Arrowood Farms in Accord, N.Y.
Presented with Impact Concerts and Ground Control Touring, Positive Jam will see The Hold Steady take the top slot on an already stacked lineup of close friends and favorite artists that includes Guided By Voices, The Tallest Man On Earth, Laura Stevenson, I Get Wild (plays Talking Heads), and Oceanator.
“We’ve talked about our ideal festival for many years, and we’re excited to make it a reality to celebrate our 20th year as a band,” offered The Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn via press release. “We are thrilled to have some of our favorite artists joining us to make an incredible day of music and community in a beautiful location.”
The inaugural Positive Jam will feature Arrowood Farms’ locally inspired craft beers, comfort food, and a wide array of Hudson Valley-based food trucks, clothing, and art vendors. In addition, the event will include DJ sets from The Hold Steady, a pool party, lawn games, and a headlined special storytellers performance by hosts.
The band’s inaugural event will arrive after The Hold Steady appears at the annual Newport Folk Festival. After their time in The Ocean State, the group will scoot to Upstate New York in anticipation of their early August festivities.
Tickets for Positive Jam go on sale to the general public starting June 2 at 10 a.m. E.T.
