Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival has added 19 new artists to its bill, completing the lineup for the event’s 13th iteration, which will occur at Pop’s Farm in Martinsville, Va., from May 25 through 28. Newly confirmed musicians include headliners Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Austin-based jammers Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, and The Lil’ Smokies.
The Los Angeles-based funk ensemble Orgōne will also take the stage, along with Kelsey Waldon, Erin & The Wildfire, and Judy Chops. Other recently announced acts include the Dave Eggar Band, The Jared Stout Band, Cristina Vane, Empire Strikes Brass, Into The Fog, Blue Cactus, Rob Cheatham and Co., singer-songwriter Oh, Christopher, P&HCC Jazz, and the Junior Appalachian Musicians.
This is the third and final round of artist announcements for Rooster Walk 13. Today’s additions will join 24 previously confirmed musicians on the bill, including top billing, acts Greensky Bluegrass, Alabama-based soul ensemble St. Paul & The Broken Bones, and Southern rockers The Marshall Tucker Band. In addition to live music, the three-day music and arts festival will offer plenty of family-friendly outdoor activities, as well as craft food and beer offerings. Festival-goers can soak in the beautiful Virginia landscape with Kayak river floats, bike rides and a disc-golf course. On-site camping will also be available.
Tickets are available now on the festival website. Children under 12 are eligible for free admission if accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Rooster Walk Inc. will donate a portion of event proceeds to local and regional charities, including Rooster Walk’s own Penn-Shank Memorial Endowment Scholarship Fund for students at Martinsville High School and the Rooster Walk Music Instrument Program for public band programs in the local city and county school systems.
