Today, two of the most euphonious and acclaimed groups of their generation, Fleet Foxes and Morning Jacket, announced they’ll unite for the first time ever this summer. The short not-to-be-missed union will commence at the iconic Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif., on Aug. 18 and 19 and close at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles the next day on Aug. 20.
“We’re really looking forward to these shows,” said My Morning Jacket’s frontman Jim Jameson in a press release. “I think that Robin and Fleet Foxes have created some of the most transportive and truly mesmerizing music of our time – the architecture of a Fleet Foxes song can be so spellbinding – there is something so magical to be found whenever I stand in the center of the temple that is the inside of the heart of [it]… something so universally healing to be experienced and felt deeply within. We are so honored and excited to get to share the stage!”
“It will be a longtime dream come true to share the stage with My Morning Jacket this summer,” added Fleet Foxes’ mellifluous Robin Pecknold. “…the greatest American rock band; Jim and the band have been guiding lights for us over the years, always setting a standard to aspire to as writers, performers, and most importantly, people. Can’t believe our luck to bring these shows to life, it will be so epic.”
It is notable that during the first show at The Greek Theatre, Fleet Foxes will close the show while the following evenings will be closed out by Morning Jacket.
Tickets for the highly anticipated shows will be available through two separate on-sales. For the performances in Berkeley, a presale begins Wednesday, Feb. 8, with a general on-sale on Friday, Feb. 10. The Los Angeles show’s presale commence on Tuesday, April 25, with a general on-sale following on Tuesday, May 2.
