EP Premiere: Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter ‘Rollers’

Rock-and-rollers Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter slowly been rolling out songs ahead of their collaborative EP, Rollers, set to release on June 23 via Allman’s Create Records. In celebration of the upcoming release, the duo will set out on their See It All American Tour equipped with heavy country and Western vibes found on the offering – during which they’ll attempt to set the Official World Record for the fastest time to play a concert in each of the U.S.’s 50 states.

The current record, set in 2003, stands at 50 shows in 50 days. The duo plans to complete the challenge in 49 days. The EP–consisting of six songs and produced by Luther Dickinson of the multiple Grammy-nominated North Mississippi All-Stars–is a collection the artists describe as a musical reflection of their world record attempt, and they invite their fans to join them on this journey.

“We are so stoked for Rollers to roll out into the universe! Each song is like a scene from a movie…There’s definitely a cinematic aesthetic poppin’,” Allman told Relix. “I would also posit it’s quite green-friendly. Enjoy the roll!”

The See It All American Tour will kick off on Aug. 5 with two shows in Maryland and Pennsylvania. The duo, accompanied by a four-piece backing band, will perform music from their new project along with other collaborative sets. Each night, they will be joined by rotating support acts such as Matt Andersen, JD Simo, Matt Costa, Davy Knowles, Mishka, Jackson Stokes, and Goodnight Texas.

Today, we have the pleasure of premiering all six songs that make up Rollers a day ahead of its release. So far, three songs from Rollers have been shared: “Calling All You Riders,” which was released just last week, the previously released single “See It All,” and “We Belong,” which includes an appearance from the dazzling Maggie Rose. The unreleased material includes the slow burner “Electric Lady,” the rollicking “Where Ya Gonna Run To,” and a grooving instrumental titled “Acapulco Gold,” which brings the project to a close.

Frankenreiter added, “We are going to see it all on this tour, and we are so excited to have a soundtrack to go along with this world record attempt.”
