Hamburg-based independent singer-songwriter and filmmaker Mogli releases her latest single ‘Ghost’ off her forthcoming cinematic album ‘RAVAGE’. The release of ‘Ghosts’ is accompanied by the third episode of Mogli’s ten part film, which continues on from Mogli’s (the protagonist) escape where she now finds herself awoken on the shoreline. ‘Ghost’ sees Mogli sonically blend lush organic string arrangements with distorted analog synths all before they fade out and transition into a delicate piano instrumental. Mogli wears her heart on her sleeve and more on this single, confessing that although she may be “Over my head” she is still “Wanting more.” Her soothing vocal delivery effortlessly intertwines through an instrumentation of sporadic drums and evolving strings sections.
When asked about her latest single, Mogli describes that “Ghost is about loss but it’s not grieving a relationship it’s grieving what this relationship had made me. After the break up everything changed at such a fast pace, I knew that I radically wasn’t who I was before but I didn’t know who I was yet, I was lost. First time depression hit me hard and I was dealing with it alone in a new and anonymous town like Berlin.”
