Iconic Sydney creative Jimmy Nice – and one half of Spit Syndicate – has released his opening solo effort for the year, with ‘The World Is Not Thy Friend,’ which is his first solo release since 2018.
This song brings Shakespeare’s spectacular poetic drama to modern day life; and the reality of it. Nice draws out the day to day lives of the majority of the world and cuffs it to a cleverly written tune, he brings you the mellow-rap vibes and you get to enjoy it.
Jimmy Nice points out the bad, the good and the mundane aspects of what it’s like to be living in this world and in it, the world is not thy friend.
However, this song is dedicated to the hustlers. It’s encouraging, it’s uplifting and it’s humbling.
“This for the Queens that I’m down with and Gs I’m proud of”
Jimmy Nice isn’t just a prodigious lyricist, but also an extremely talented photographer who just knows how to bring out the beauty in everything – you can check out his photography here.
