Goose Launches ‘Big Modern!’ Era with Electrifying Asheville Opener

A New Chapter Begins in Asheville

Last night, the Connecticut-bred quartet Goose officially launched their spring tour with a commanding performance at the famed ExploreAsheville.com Arena in Asheville, NC. The evening served as more than just a tour opener; it marked the dawn of the band’s Big Modern! era. With their sixth studio album slated for a June release, the band wasted no time introducing fans to their evolving sound, opening the show with the track “Media,” a song that has been a staple of their live rotation since late 2024.

Dynamic Setlists and Musical Evolution

The first set established a high-energy tone, featuring seamless transitions and extended improvisational segments. Highlights included a fluid segue from “Spirit Of The Dark Horse” into “Rockdale,” followed by a rhythmic journey from “One In, One Out” into “Atlas Dogs.” The band’s technical proficiency and artistic evolution were on full display as they navigated through fan favorites like “So Ready” and “Elmeg The Wise.”

Showcasing the ‘Big Modern!’ Sound

The second set was a masterclass in pacing, specifically designed to highlight the material from their forthcoming record. The set opened with the title track, “Big Modern!,” which flowed directly into the beloved “Animal.” The band also treated the audience to the debut of “Good2B,” a funky new track that was released as a single earlier this week. The momentum continued with a transition into “Pancakes” before the band revisited “Arise” for the first time since September 2024. The night concluded with a spirited encore of The Band’s classic, “Don’t Do It.”
