Foo Fighters’ Chris Shiflett Details Solo Album ‘Lost at Sea,’ Shares Single “Damage Control”

Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett has announced his solo album Lost at Sea is set to drop on Oct. 20 via Blue Élan Records. In celebration of the announcement Shiflett unveiled the first single from the 10-track LP, titled “Damage Control,” along with an accompanying music video for the single, which was filmed during his recent U.K. tour.

In an interview with Consequence of Sound, Shiflett explained the collaborative process behind “Damage Control,” highlighting the Clash-inspired guitar lines he played, along with the contributions of acoustic guitarist and banjo player Charlie Worsham and sound effects creator Nate Ketterlee. Shiflett emphasized the beauty of each band member interpreting the music in their own way, avoiding excessive influence on their individual performances during the recording of the basic tracks.

“Lost at Sea” was primarily recorded in Nashville, Tenn., under the production of Jaren Johnston. The album features notable collaborations with fellow artists Worsham, Tom Bukovac, and Keeterle. Alongside “Damage Control,” Shiflett’s recent singles “Dead and Gone” and “Black Top White Lines” will also be included in the album.

Notably, last year, Shiflett released the single “Born & Raised,” produced by Vance Powell. The track showcased the talents of Raconteurs bassist Jack Lawrence, Eagles of Death Metal drummer Julian Doro, keyboardist Mike Webb, and steel guitarist Luke Schneider.

Fans can now pre-order Lost at Sea in advance of its release here.
