On Friday, June 23, the Foo Fighters treated fans to a surprise set at the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, located at Worthy Farm near Somerset, England. During their performance, the rockers received special guest support from David Grohl’s daughter, Violet Grohl, and teased plans to return to the U.K. next summer for a six-date stadium tour entitled Everything Or Nothing At All.
Ahead of the event, festival organizers had billed an unknown act, The Churn Ups, for Friday’s prime-time slot. Social media rumors erupted, and fans began to speculate that the Foo Fighters were behind the seemingly untraceable band name. Suspicions were confirmed an hour before the set, when the rockers tweeted a photo of a “Churn It Up” flag on festival grounds.
During their hour-long set, the Foo Fighters dished out a combination of throwback hits and material from their latest project, But Here We Are. Violet Grohl took the stage in the later half of the frame, joining her father for a duet to their recent release, “Show Me How.” Before leaving the stage, the band’s frontman promised fans that the Foo Fighters would return to England in 2024.
The official 2024 tour schedule, released today via the band’s social media, will take the Foo Fighters to a handful of iconic venues across the pond. The run will kick off with a June 13 set at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester, featuring support from rising post-punk outfit Wet Leg and local rockers Loose Articles. Next, the rockers will return to Glasgow for a show at Hampden Park with indie rocker Courtney Barnett and U.K.rock-pop project Honeyblood.
On June 20 and 22, The Foo Fighters will play two nights at London Stadium. Night one will feature special guests Wet Leg and local punk ensemble Shame, while night two will see support from Courtney Barnett and rising power-pop outfit Hot Milk.
Then, they will head to Cardiff for a June 25 set at Principality Stadium with Wet Leg and Welsh rock ensemble the Himalayas. The band will polish off the tour on June 27 at Birmingham’s Villa Park, with opening sets slated from Courtney Barnett and Hot Milk.
Ticket pre-sale for the Foo Fighters’ 2024 U.K. tour begins Wednesday, June 28, at 9 a.m. BST, on the band’s website. General on-sale will follow this Friday, June 30, at 9 a.m. BST.
