Illinois is about to witness a groundbreaking moment with the announcement of the inaugural The Miracle In Mundelein, the state’s first-ever music concert allowing onsite cannabis consumption. Presented by RYTHM Premium Cannabis, Sacred Rose, and Dayglo Presents, The Miracle In Mundelein is set to merge the realms of music and cannabis culture on Saturday, Sept. 9, and Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, just outside of Chicago, across the street from RISE Mundelein in Mundelein, Ill.
The innovative event, also simply referred to as The Miracle, aims to create an unforgettable celebration of cannabis, music, and art, fostering camaraderie among communities through a diverse lineup spanning multiple genres – offering a cultural mix of hip-hop, jam, reggae, and funk artists.
Peter Shapiro, Founder of Dayglo Presents, shared his excitement, remarking, “Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of producing many live music events, but this is truly a first. The Miracle in Mundelein is more than just a concert, it is a testament to the relationship that music and legal cannabis can have when brought together in the right way.” He continued to say, “We named the event, The Miracle, because it really is remarkable that we can now bring cannabis and music together in 2023, and it is permitted and legal. Our goal is to create a new type of event, which showcases the uplifting impact of cannabis in a legal environment, while also supporting and growing a real community.”
Saturday’s lineup will focus on the hip-hop and reggae sphere boasting legendary, multi-platinum hip-hop group Cypress Hill, underground rap icon and cannabis enthusiast Action Bronson, eight-time Grammy-winning reggae artist Stephen Marley, and local artist DJ Papa G. On Sunday, attendees will be treated to world-class jam acts such as Grateful Dead offshoot Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, funk-fusion group Lettuce, jam/experimental bassist Karina Rykman, and Chicago DJ Mitch Please.
Beyond the stellar music programming, The Miracle In Mundelein will provide attendees with unique non-music experiences, including a dab bar, a cannabis beverage garden, joint rolling stations, chilled bongs, and more. The organizers aim to celebrate the profound connection between music and cannabis, fostering connectivity, positivity, and well-being.
Michael Berg, Founder of Sacred Rose Presents, views The Miracle as a momentous occasion for the Illinois and Chicagoland community. As a long-time advocate for the medical benefits and recreational adult use of cannabis, he finds it truly remarkable to create such a unique and first-of-its-kind concert. The event’s extended team has worked closely with the village of Mundelein to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees while celebrating the culture and lifestyle with performances from artists who align with the cannabis movement.
While cannabis sales will not be permitted inside the event, The Miracle In Mundelein conveniently takes place across the street from a Green Thumb dispensary. This will allow patrons to purchase their cannabis products beforehand and enjoy them onsite. However, all cannabis products brought into the event must remain sealed.
Ben Kovler, CEO of Green Thumb Industries, emphasized the deep historical relationship between music and cannabis, stating, “We believe that the two can create more connectivity, positivity, and well-being. The Miracle is our way of celebrating this unique intersection — with amazing music, high-quality weed, and a welcoming community. We are excited to put on an incredible show while providing a safe, legal space for cannabis consumption for everyone 21 and over.”
The event strictly caters to individuals aged 21 and above. Pre-sale registration for tickets is now open, offering exclusive access to secure a limited spot at The Miracle. General admission tickets will be available starting June 8, with single-day passes priced at $69 for General Admission and $178 for VIP. Two-day passes are also available.
