Pop Smoke fans may be disappointed due to recent news. According to a direct message conversation on Instagram between Pop Smoke’s producer Rico Beats and a fan, the late rapper has no more music left to release.
Recently, in a direct message conversation on Instagram between a fan and Pop Smoke’s producer Rico Beats, the fan asked if the late drill rapper had any more new music dropping. Rico Beats responded, “Who said he (Pop Smoke) had music left?” which inferred that the “Welcome To The Party” rapper has no additional music worthy of release.
Pop Smoke’s career spanned less than three years before he was gunned down. Prior to his death, he released Meet The Woo 2. Pop Smoke had two albums released after his death, titled Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, and Faith. The last album, Faith, was released on July 16, 2021, and includes collaborations with artists such as Kanye West, Dua Lipa, and Pharrell Williams.
Pop Smoke’s manager at the time, Steven Victor, said in a statement that the album was meant to celebrate the life and music of the late rapper.
Limited Posthumous Releases + Fans React
Pop Smoke is among several artists, such as Lil Keed and XXXTentacion, who had brief careers before their untimely deaths, leading to a limited amount of posthumous releases. In contrast, Tupac, whose career spanned more than seven years, is one of the few artists to have multiple albums released after his death, including The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory and R U Still Down?
Several fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts on the matter. One user wrote, “Begging for more music from a dead man is really garbage behavior like you can’t really think that shit was gon last.” Another said, “Let him Rest In peace. Damn, y’all made enough money off of him. SMH.”
Pop Smoke died on February 19, 2020, during a home invasion in Hollywood Hills. The suspects were reported to have been wearing masks and entered the property after the rapper’s friend accidentally posted a photo on social media that showed the address of the house. Pop Smoke was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
