Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league will be the subject of an upcoming docuseries showcasing its origins and growth. The docuseries will be a collaboration between Ice Cube and Jesse Collins Entertainment.
According to a Deadline report, West Coast rap legend Ice Cube has a docuseries about his basketball league, BIG3, in the works.
The “It Was A Good Day” rapper officially became the owner of BIG3 in October 2022, making it the first Black-owned professional sports league. Established in 2017, the unique three-on-three basketball league primarily features retired NBA players. BIG3 games are played on half courts across various NBA arenas throughout the country, providing fans with an exciting and nostalgic experience.
Ice Cube To Star In New TMNT Movie
Ice Cube, who is set to star in the upcoming movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, will produce and star in the series through his company Cube Vision. He will collaborate with Jesse Collins Entertainment.
Ice Cube’s BIG3 docuseries will showcase a dual narrative. The series will center on the Mount Rushmore rapper’s challenges when starting the league and teams competing for the BIG3 championship. The series will also cover BIG3’s $1.2 billion lawsuit against Qatari investors. Ice Cube hopes that BIG3 will uplift Black entrepreneurs as the league grows in popularity. The upcoming docuseries’ title and release date remain unannounced.

Paramount Global will lead a $15 million investment in the return of LL Cool J’s “Rock The Bells” Festival this year. The festival will now also air exclusively on Paramount+. Other investors in the festival include Raine Ventures, Irving Azoff, Amex Ventures and Wildcat Capital Management.
