Last night, March 16, the Krasno-Moore Project descended upon New York’s The Blue Note venue in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan. The show served as the ensemble’s first in a four-night run, which in total, is comprised of eight individual concerts.
The Thursday night stand included a special guest Christian McBride, the jazz legend joined the billed trio–Eric Krasno, Stanton Moore and Eric Finland–during the show’s second half and assisted on bass.
The concert presented choice selections from Krasno Moore Project: Book of Queens, a collection of nine soulful covers initially recorded by Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse, Brittany Howard, Peggy Lee and other highly-respected female artists.
As a follow-up to last night’s performance, the Krasno-Moore Project will return to The Blue Note tonight for their album release show for Book of Queens, which was officially released today. Read the initial album announcement and learn more about the new collection of music here.
Tickets for tonight’s concert remain on sale and can be purchased via bluenotejazz.com.
