Great South Bay Music Festival Outlines 2023 Lineup: Phil Lesh & Friends, Hot Tuna, Gov’t Mule and More

Today, Feb. 27, Great South Bay Music Festival has dropped its initial artist lineup for the 2023 iteration of the Shorefront Park event in Patchogue, N.Y. Long Island’s longest-running music and arts jubilee will take place on July 20 through 23, and features an all-star lineup of acts slated to take the stage this summer.

The 14th edition of the Great South Bay Music Festival will commence on Thursday, July 20, and is billed to include sets courtesy of Hot Tuna, who have signed on for an electric set. Moreover, the first day of the event will also see performances by Dave Mason and the Kerry Kearney Band.

To follow, on day two of the event, Friday, July 21, bands such as Dirty Head, Goldfinger, Badfish, Ballyhoo!, Oogee Wawa and Cliffdiver will deliver some tunes. Then, on Saturday, Feb. 22, a highly anticipated set from Phil Lesh & Friends will happen, as well as added frames by the Eric Krasno Trio, Neighbor, Baked Shrimp and Cassandra House.

The final day of the festival lands on Sunday, July 23. It includes music by Gov’t Mule, who will tap into their Dark Side and pay tribute to Pink Floyd–something the band had done back in 2008 during a three-hour gig at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on Halloween night–along with unannounced special guests.

Also slated to play on the last day of the Great South Bay Music Festival are Duane Betts and his Palmetto Motel unit. The event will also feature an appearance by guitarist Brandon “Taz” Niederauer. More artists will be added to the schedule in the coming months. For additonal information, visit greatsouthbaymusicfestival.com
