Doom Flamingo have released their debut full-length album, Peaches & Bobbi, via their own imprint, Records Are Doomed. The offering showcases the sextet’s blend of amorphous dark retro wave grooves, valorous vocals and pristine souring instrumentalization over 12-tracks.

The ensemble comprised Kanika Moore (vocals), Ryan Stasik (bass), Ross Bogan (keys, vocals), Thomas Kenney (guitar), Mike Quinn (sax, keys, vocals), and Sean Bing (drums, vocals), released the project in spectacular fashion, by dropping a lyric video for the project’s lead track “Along For The Ride” and ripping through the full album on open seas upon Jam Cruise 19 Pool Deck early this morning.

Peaches and Bobbi contains many midnight mirage instrumentals that tap into the neon glow of the ’80s. The opening track, “Along for the Ride,” highlights Moore’s ability to layer her vocals over any rhythm, which Bing unleashes with ease. Kenney added of the album as a whole, “This one is for cruising endlessly, screaming out the window, breaking out of the old and into the new.”

In celebration of the album’s release, the ensemble also announced several performances, including a two-night hometown run in Charleston, S.C.’s Charleston Paul House. Learn more and find tickets to their upcoming shows here.
