The QAnon Candidate
Kristina Karamo, a Michigan educator who has connections to both QAnon and a denier of the 2020 elections results, was endorsed by Michigan Republicans and Trump as a candidate for Michigan Secretary of State over the weekend.
She was part of the now-defunct “It’s Solid Food” podcast and was also a community college professor with a penchant for connecting pop stars to Satan.
In August 2020, Karamo claimed that pop stars Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish were placing children “under a satanic delusion”. Her ‘proof’ of this was Grande’s The Last Supper-styled “God Is a Woman” performance at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. According to the candidate, it depicted a “lesbian orgy.” The Republican then claimed Billie Eilish’s flirtation with the devil was the artist naming a song “Good Girls Go to Hell.”
Within the same episode, the candidate accused Beyoncé of “working overtime to pull more and more Black Americans into paganism and calling it American spirituality.”
This is because Karamo believed that Satan “is crafty” and paganism was a hop, skip, and jump away from Satan. And Jay-Z wasn’t safe either, as the evil-finder called the rapper a Satanist yet admitted she “doesn’t have any hard proof.”
In September 2020, Karamo referred to Cardi B as “a tool of Lucifer.” The reasoning behind this was “because she peddles filth in the culture, and she peddles such filth and sexual degeneracy in our culture.” She added Megan Thee Stallion to the mix because of “WAP,” but will not speak the entire phrase out loud because “it’s very obscene.”
