Who’s Next: TRVP’s artists to watch in 2020

TRVP is the iconic new-media platform based in Australia, profiling the hottest pockets of hip hop across the globe, be it new music, fashion or footwear.

TRVP founder RAFAKYE gave us five of the most promising artists to keep an eye out for from across the globe.

King Von

“In the short time span of 2 years, King Von has already garnered some major attention, something most startup rappers could only dream of. He has just recently released his first official project ‘Levon James’ which was well received, featuring some hits such as ‘3AM’ & ‘Broke Opps.’  His sharp songwriting and heavy hitting delivery have made King Von one of raps rising superstars, and thats why you’ll be seeing him a lot in 2020 and beyond.”

22Gz

“Within the concrete jungle, there is a selection of drill artists soaring towards fame & success. We have seen artists like Pop Smoke (R.I.P) & Fivio Foreign rise into the spotlight in a matter of months, and coming up right behind them is none other than 22Gz. He’s still riding off the success of 2019’s ‘The Blixky Tape’ and ‘Suburban PT2’ one of his more recent songs that is currently sitting just under 10 Million Streams on Spotify. His current momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon, so be sure to keep an eye out for his new releases.”

The Kid Laroi

“The young star hailing from home ground (Australia) is making huge waves in the industry, and carrying on the legacy of his late friend and mentor, Juice WRLD. Laroi doesn’t have a large selection of music, but despite only having a small selection of songs, he still has over 5 million monthly Spotify listeners. Some would argue that Laroi has already blown up based on those numbers alone, but this is only the beginning for Laroi, the world will see soon enough.”

Rod Wave

“With his debut album, Rod Wave broke into the mainstream with his amazing voice & melodies. His viral hit ‘Heart on Ice’ now boasting over 81 Million views on YouTube, also received huge praises from artists such as Meek Mill & 21 Savage. In an era where new artists are expected to sing as well as rap, this 20-year-old artist is living up to his stage name and riding that wave all the way to the top of the industry.”

Fivio Foreign

“The New Yorker previously mentioned above technically blew up last year with his hit single ‘Big Drip,’ but the best is yet to come. Fivio has an unreleased track with none other than Drake himself, which is sure to boost Fivio to the screens of the masses. Fivio & Pop Smoke were at the forefront of the rising NY Drill Scene. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Fivio will continue to carry the movement onward by himself, keeping Pop Smoke’s energy and legacy alive.”
