Australia’s Best Of August

Australia’s Best Of August

Australian music was as prominent and potent as ever in August, so we’ve compiled some of the months best for your listening pleasure.

ChillinIt dropped a brand new single ‘Freedom’, whilst also being the first ever Aussie to appear on Charlie Sloth’s ‘Fire In The Booth’. August was a big month for the Sydney trailblazer.

Sampa The Great dropped yet another instant classic ahead of her upcoming album ‘The Return’, with the queen releasing ‘Freedom’.

Australian x New Zealand artist Saint Lane continued his reign on 2019 with yet another smash, this time in the form of the kinda hilarious ‘Pitbull Type Beat’.

OneFour continued doing OneFour things, this time with the room-rattling ‘Ladz in the Hood’.

The OG B Wise returned in August too, combining with Juvé on the vibe of the century, ‘Burn’.

Complete kept his perfect record with a couple of quality releases in August ahead of his highly anticipated, forthcoming album.

ZEKIEL went ahead and made everyone remember skrrtting around on their push bikes  as a teen with his delightful tuna salad ‘Skipping School’

Perth-come-Brisbane star-in-the-making Gamirez at last stopped drip feeding us singles, gifting fans with an entire EP, ‘W.O.R.K’.

Jaycee has been releasing a song a week for his #OneSongOneDream challenge, so August was as fruitful as always for the West Australian.

Tkay Maidza casually linked with JPEGMAFIA on her latest record ‘Awake’ in what is a moment for Hip-Hop in Australia.

Golden Era singing Shadow also came through with an EP in amongst the chaos of supporting Hilltop Hoods on their national tour.

Meanwhile, Elijah Yo and Soka went in over Young Thug’s ‘Wycleaf Jean’ for what we can assume is a new bar-fest of a series.

Melbourne pop-rapper Boy Graduate swung us a classy, lovestruck EP – ‘Power’ – with Perth super producer ErikiBeatz.

Nerve went stupid on his new single which has the Aussie icon set up to smash records and break new ground in the coming months.

In addition these releases we got some new music from the likes of Brandon Støne, Kyso, Skrub, I.E. and more.

Well, that was August, let us know on our socials what releases we missed and what we should keep an eye out for in September.
